Mansion House, Belgrave Square

Sollands completed the refurbishment and connection of a Grade I listed mansion and its mews house, which extends to some 20,000 square feet. One of the many extraordinary features in this project is the large 11m x 4m swimming pool with a descending ceiling above, which can be lowered to cover the pool. Once in place, the teak surface of the mobile ceiling perfectly abuts the adjoining teak floor creating a very large entertaining space. A modern, fully glazed staircase connects this space to a terrace above, creating a total area capable of entertaining up to five hundred guests.

During the works, Sollands was awarded the ‘Best Small Site’ award by the City of Westminster for their organisation and cleanliness, which resulted in minimal disturbance to surrounding residents.
